I had to assume this was a jail of some sort because the doors were barred from the outside. I thought is was odd that there was no way to keep the rain or cold from getting in but also thought it was a blessing to its captives to at least have had fresh air; hence the name of the painting.

Throughout five decades of fine art and design, my work has always been an expression of my affection for my subjects; "nature and nostalgia." I've always been close to old things because I love and appreciate the fine craftsmanship and hand work that went into their creation. I'm equally enamored with nature for its inherent perfection and consistency in a world otherwise altered and controlled by mankind! Hope you enjoy the view!
