Ashcroft is a Ghost Town just outside of Aspen Colorado. The title for this painting came to me when I arrived and saw the old broken down wagon. I thought it was on its way elsewhere when it could go no further and the town grew after those first settlers found it was a great place along the route to stop and call home. I did this painting three times in three different styles and number one is also here on FAA.. This original is still available.

Throughout five decades of fine art and design, my work has always been an expression of my affection for my subjects; "nature and nostalgia." I've always been close to old things because I love and appreciate the fine craftsmanship and hand work that went into their creation. I'm equally enamored with nature for its inherent perfection and consistency in a world otherwise altered and controlled by mankind! Hope you enjoy the view!
