My rendering of a simplified map of the southern region of the United States covering Texas and Mexico. I painted this in the style of old antique maps I had seen depicting sailing ships and ornate graphics, and also painted the folds which in reality are not there.
Throughout five decades of fine art and design, my work has always been an expression of my affection for my subjects; "nature and nostalgia." I've always been close to old things because I love and appreciate the fine craftsmanship and hand work that went into their creation. I'm equally enamored with nature for its inherent perfection and consistency in a world otherwise altered and controlled by mankind! Hope you enjoy the view!
